She Sets Fire – CreComm Assignment

This silent film was made for my Media Production class. I led our team, helping manage storyboards, lighting, location, filming, and more. It was a lot of fun to make!

She Sets Fire is a silent film about a breakup.

Remembrance Day – CreComm Assignment

I learned a lot from this assignment, specifically to slow down.

Take longer shots. Don’t just cram shots in because you can. This is the advice I wish I had before making this.

I think the visual angles are strong because of my background in photography though.

CMHA’s 5 Hour Timelapse of the CHRM

I spent the summer capturing b-roll footage for the Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA). One afternoon, I spent five hours taking photos to create this time-lapse of the Canadian Human Rights Museum (CHRM) for CMHA.

Funny how fast five hours goes by….

Hello Flesh – CreComm Assignment

This was a parody advertisement for our Media Production class. We were trained in the live recording studio to shoot an informercial, however, we were unable to shoot our group’s as the pandemic forced us into online classes around the time of filming. We were, however, able to create some fun memories shooting this parody ad for it!

Depth-of-field – CreComm Assignment

Here’s a short video featuring some friendly faces from the Creative Communications (#CreComm) program at Red River College Polytechnic as part of a media production assignment.

One ongoing challenge for me throughout the program — and in my broader video work — has been shooting on a Canon 6D, which doesn’t offer autofocus tracking in video mode. This means I manually pull focus for every shot. While it’s helped me strengthen my technical skills, I’m looking forward to eventually upgrading to a more video-focused camera to expand my creative flexibility.
